Your OEM backrest cover came with a mesh net pocket on the back side. The original mesh material is no longer available. This cover will be manufactured with a vinyl pocket. Additionally, if you have OEM seat heaters, they are sewn inside your OEM cover. This cover will not have a heater sewn in. Please see our video showing how you can transfer your heater during installation.

1997 Silverado Top Cover Replacement- Worth It

This was my second order from The Seat Shop and just like the first, everything ended up as advertised, as expected. The first order was to replace the OEM driver and passenger lower covers- I even added new foam for driver's side (get the foam, well worth the improvement). For the second order I only changed the driver's upper cover. I watched the video for the next generation seat and was able to apply it to my seat (no seat belt on the actual seat to deal with).

A few challenges to deal with in the installation but nothing that should cause you to quit (deep breaths and stay calm I tell myself).

1- the arm rest clip. I may suggest supplying a new clip in the kit as the original gets stretched if you aren't careful how you remove it from the seat.

2- Installing the cover and lining up the velcro tracks was tedious but straight forward (again the video is a big help).

3- On the 1997 cover there are some clips in the middle of the cover (2 rows, 3 clips each row) that i did not expect but the cover came with new clips so again, just tedious but manageable.

4- cutting the new cover for the handles and head rest posts, etc made me nervous but again, turned out ok. The video makes it look really easy and I'm going to bet those big scissors are a big help. Small cuts and nibbling away seemed my best approach so that I didn't make a cut too large.

All in all very pleased with the finished product. Would recommend The Seat

The new foam is nice and sturdy and provides much better support while driving and I no longer have pain in my leg and hips from the old, worn out cushion.

Needed to replace the upper and lower heating elements in my 05 Tahoe. The OEM upper heat element was burned badly, This part worked great seems to be well made. Gets very toasty! Only with the replacement lower element got just as hot. I do recommend this for your seats.

Bought both the cover and the cushion and they went in easy and look like new. I do wish there was more on the removal of the seat from the truck. Newer seats are a lot different than the previous years. Wasn't quite prepared for that. All in all took about 2 hours for the entire process.
